The crèche at Premier International School cares for and teaches infants from the 6 weeks to 2 years old. All infants and toddlers use their senses to pick up information and to learn about the world around them. The crèche promotes this learning by facilitating daily sensory and scientific activities with even our youngest infants. Independent play is encouraged along with a structured schedule to encourage our babies to explore and learn about their world and environment. Infants and Toddlers are naturally curious, we allow them discover through teaching and independence.
At the Crèche, we divide our children into 3 learning groups:
3 months old (Young Infants)
At this age, we focus on caring for the children while they progress through their developmental milestones. Infant development is assessed in 6 areas – language, motor skills, creative expressions, cognitive development, socio-emotional development, and self-help.
9 months – 15 months (Older infants)
Our babies transition into the older infant stage once they begin to move around. Older infant development is also assessed in 6 areas – language, motor skills, creative expressions, cognitive development, socio-emotional development and self-help.
15 – 24 months (Toddlers)
The transition into toddler-hood is marked by increased mobility (such as from toddling to running), and an increased amount of speech and language. Toddler development is also divided into 7 developmental aspects, which are language/literacy, motor skills, physical health, creative expressions, math and science, music and movement and socio-emotional learning.
